Kay, so, I know that i'm social chair, and it's my responsibility to deal with formal. I totally understand that, and trust me, i'm trying to party in a dress as much as the rest of you (except becca and natalie...who will probs be in tuxes...). here's my problem. I've had a hard time finding places to social all year...I had a house for the alumni game, but that fell through and i had to use the bar last minute (etc. etc.), which was okay. I guess what i'm trying to accomplish with this post is to sort of generate discussion about formal...ideas about where to have it, etc. If you guys know people who'd be willing to host our formal, let me know either here or via facebook. let's just start talking about it. I appreciate any help i get.

i'm wondering when would be best for everyone. i mean, clearly we should do the weekend that's not all-stars, not the all-stars game and not exams. so when's that? and also, like i said, if you have any thoughts about where to have it, let a sister know.

that leaves no time to have one..

next weekend is all-stars
the following weekend is all-stars game
then we're on break
then it's the weekend before exams
and then the semester is over :(

It does not need to be on a Saturday. A Friday night would be best in my opinion, that way it shouldn't get in the way of much.

agreed. so we could do two fridays from now. that's most reasonable to give people time to work it out. agreed? or three fridays?

ok so the cafe says that we can have the whole thing on a Monday Tuesday or Wednesday. It will be cheaper and better for us if it is on a Monday because that cafe is actually closed so they would gain money rather then possibly lose it. They can give us food they mentioned a buffet style which would be easiest and we would have a bartender and 2 servers. Maybe someone could bring an ipod or we could figure out a dj. What do you all think? I know it is on a weekday night but I figure it is better than nothing at all.

I know the boys team really wants to bar tend our formal, and I am talking with them right now to see if they will host it for us also. The Cafe sounds cool minus the fact that it is an actual bar and so less fun for all who are not legal age. Let me talk some things over with the boys and see what they say; they want to bar tend really badly but i'm not sure about them hosting us yet.

I'm not really a fan of the weekday night deal, but if it comes down to it, then something is better than nothing.

Are Friday nights totally out of the picture?

Okay so, i talked to mobby this weekend and we tentatively have poop house...provided that her roommates are okay with everything, and it would be friday the 20th. how does this sound? i'm legit doing everything in my power to avoid doing a weekday thing, and there's no way ucaf is getting $3000.
