All, For those of you interested and have the time, here's info on the MARFU College Women's All-Star Camp this weekend. I urge any of you who can to go. -Bill --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Attention collegiate and U23 women and coaches, MARFU collegiate all-stars tryout camps & clinics begin this weekend!! We are really excited to be playing in "Rugbytown" Glendale, Colorado. In addition to our matches, which are always fun and challenging, we will get to attend a USA international match while in Glendale. 8am-3pm at UVA: Check-in begins at 8am sharp and is necessary for ALL players. www.virginia.edu/webmap/popPages/156-MadisonBowl.html Who is eligible? Any female player currently in college, graduated 2012 (or winter quarter 2011), or under 23 years of age as of Jan 1, 2012. What to bring? Your teammates Your kit (a jersey/tshirt that makes you stand out is always helpful) $10 Your own athletic tape. Lunch/snacks gallon water sunscreen enthusiasm! This camp will focus on: Evasion skills-avoiding contact Continuity-when contact is not avoided Body position in contact-winning the ball and keeping momentum Coaching Staff present will be head coach Kate Nichol, and assistant coaches Roshna Wunderlich and Leslie Joyce. MARFU U23 tryouts tomorrow at 8am, LOCATION CHANGE. We apologize for the last minute change. Due to field cancellation at the University of Virginia, the MARFU collegiate open tryouts FOR THIS WEEKEND MAY 19 will be moved to James Madison University upper recreation turf in Harrisonburg, VA. Directions are as follows: Directions to JMU can be found at www.jmu.edu/jmuweb/directions/University Recreation Upper Turf field (GPS coordinates 38.431169, -78.867395) (From North, e.g. from 66 west from DC) -- 81 S -- Port Republic road exit -- LEFT off exit -- (follow below) (From South, e.g. Charlottesville via 64 west or Blacksburg) -- 81 N -- Port Republic road exit -- RIGHT off exit (follow below) get quickly into left lane and take first LEFT onto Forest Hill Dr. -- at T intersection, take a LEFT -- follow around curve to the right and crest the hill. Pass the convocation center on your left and turn left into the next parking lot. There will be a softball field on your right. Continue to the back of this lot, and the turf field will be on the back on the right.
