As of November 23, 2016, according to USA Rugby:
www.usarugby.org/college-directory/
There are 441 men's collegiate rugby teams and 303 women's collegiate rugby teams.
HOWEVER, I have to question this, the USA Rugby database does NOT list the Mary Washington men, who play in the Chesapeake Rugby Conference, which is also not listed by USA Rugby.
If you search the USA Rugby Membership database at:
www.usarugby.org/membership-resources/public-rosters/
The Mary Washington men are listed with the Chesapeake Rugby Conference.
