Dear fellow Ruggers, It has been a frequent tradition of our team to host a session of the BBC 6 hour long version of "Pride and Prejudice" starring COLIN FIRTH and all those other, less-hot-after-swimming people. This is hardly a mandatory event, and I fully expect that not too many of you will want to join. But since I KNOW Leslie, Laura and I are big fans I thought I'd mention it to you.
I was thinking of maybe doing it the weekend of Dec 1-2. This might interfere with Christmas 7s, I don't know. But it could be a lot of fun anyway!!!! I can host too as long as someone brings the dvds.
Please tell me if you're interested/when you are available!

I am SO there! I'll probably also bring some kind of baked good for everyone...i think i'm going to try making chewy ginger cookies
But for those who haven't seen it....it is seriously an amazing movie and I highly recommend you join us for at least a little bit of the day!

Ummm, it's only 5 hours long. I'm pretty sure I'm free, and I can probably make some deliciously sinful chocolatey dream brownies. I own both the regular DVD set and the 10yr anniversary edition, which was given to me for Holiday last year.
Speaking of my fave movie/book ever: Laura and Briana, you must read/see "Wives and Daughters" (Elizabeth Gaskell). I also own that movie, and it is also 5 hours long, and also produced by BBC. IT'S FABULOUS!! Sometimes I like it more than "Pride and Prejudice".
P.S. If any of you are judging us right now, just remember which senior you nearly unanimously voted as scariest. Yeah, I thought so.

Depending on whether or not this interferes with 7's, I'm all for this movie gathering. And I also feel as though if someone would like to to use this chance is a teaching experience and help teach me how to make baked goods, I will make you all a little somethin'somethin'.

Are rookies invited to this? Cause I love Jane Austen. I even tried to take the english class, but it turns out its not meant for freshmen . Anyway, I'd loved to come, if/when this takes place. ;D

I am currently unsure on my attending status for either day. I can most certainly get the movies to you though. But I work Sunday and I might really need to work Saturday. I can probably make it for a bit if it's on Saturday though. We'll see, I have a rather busy and unplanned week.

do you work all day sunday? cause it was looking like thats the better day, since people have christmas 7s on saturday. But we'll work it out.
And Kris, we appreciate the notice about your plans that night. I'm so glad you are finally fixing that damn 'au naturale' look your cat has.

I work 12-6, and I can't really imagine that there would be any time better than that time to watch it. If there are hours not during my work time that I can attend, you can bet your shelves in the closet I'll be there. But we shall have to work out getting the movies to you. I also have a special features disk, should anyone be interested in that.
This also means no delicious sinful chocolatey dream brownies. Sorry, teammates.

Good morning young persons,
I know I'm about a million years late on this post, but I've been following the whole time, and if this ball is going down Sunday between 12-6 then I would like to know where so I can drop by for some of it.
So after I fold my gowns the way I damn well please, I want to take a turn about the room with you all, for I hear it is soooo refreshing!

Hey Leslie, Can you make those brownies for those of us that live with you? I don't mind if you eat half the batter first

i second Rachel =) 12-6ish sunday sounds fabulous, and I could probably be convinced to bring some brownies or funfetti cookies to clear out my pantry before break (and of course some constant comment bags). As I said before I would be more than happy to host you all in my somewhat spacious living room, so just let me know, i don't really know who is in charge here, Briana??

Maybe we could start at 2 instead of 12 so leslie could see the end? It won't be a real P&P viewing without her presence for at least a little bit of it.

Well I suppose since I am such a desirable partner, I'd have to vote for the 2pm starting time. It's true that it would not be a true viewing without my presence... especially for "the look". Except, could someone else bring a copy because last time I watched it, it skipped for the few minutes before, during, and after this particular scene. Probably from over-watching it. I tried to find my other copy when I was home but to no avail. And I'll see what I can do about those brownies. No promises, though.

Alright then! P&P is on Sunday starting at 2. Bring a few dollars in case we get hungry and need to order food, but hopefully all our baked goodies will tide us over!
