2016 Capital Collegiate Women's DII League Standings and Matches
For 2016-2017, the Capital Women's Collegiate Rugby Conference is a hybrid conference.
This is due to only 4 teams playing in NSCRO (Catholic, Johns Hopkins, Longwood, and William & Mary). Since USA Rugby allows hybrid conferences, this split will establish divisions that will accommodate Div II and NSCRO teams.
For collegiate DII league matches, teams receive points for matrix matches played as follows:
4 points for a win
2 points for a tie
1 point for a loss
-1 point penalty for failure to turn in a match report with 48 hours of the match
Top 8 DII teams will qualify for the Oct 29 Capital D2 First Round playoffs
The top 4 teams will be defined to be the 3 group winners plus the “best” 2nd place team.
The other 4 teams will be defined to be the other two 2nd place teams plus the two “best” 3rd place teams.
On Oct 29, the top 4 teams in the conference will host the next 4 teams in quarterfinal matches.
The top 4 teams will be defined to be the 3 group winners plus the “best” 2nd place team.
The other 4 teams will be defined to be the other two 2nd place teams plus the two “best” 3rd place teams.
Winners from Oct 29 will qualify for the Nov 5-6 DII playoffs
In the event of tie(s), they will be settled in the following sequence until a winner is determined:
1. Head-to-head record among the tied teams.
2. Largest point differential (points for minus points against) between tied teams (e.g., teams with the same record).
3. Largest point differential (points for minus points against) in all divisional games.
