Comer, Mo has been sick since Saturday evening and was diagnosed with viral meningitis today. She's feeling a lot better and will be released from the hospital tomorrow. According to webmd.com Meningitis is contagious. The germs that cause it can be passed from one person to another through coughing and sneezing and through close contact. I thought that you may want to send out an e-mail to the presidents of the teams that played this past weekend letting them know to tell their teams that if they experience a stiff and painful neck, especially when you try to touch your chin to your chest. Fever. Headache. Vomiting. Trouble staying awake. Seizures. they should get checked out asap because if it's not treated it can get a lot worse (I got all of tht from the meningitis website).
Their was a death from bacterial meningitis at VCU a couple weeks ago, but Mo definitely only has the viral kind which is not as bad. [/s] <<< I was told that this is not an accurate statement regarding the cause of death at VCU. Sorry about that. -Kris Sara
