All, We are finally starting spring practice on Wed Jan 23, 2013. If we can keep everybody's attention tomorrow, we will be done at 5:30 p.m. For those who have not practiced with us in the spring, it can be very cold if you are not properly prepared. I have added a few reminders/tips at the end of this post. Do not blow off practice because you think it is cold, we have done this for years in the past and have learned to dress for the cold. We have a lot of work to do before our first game on Feb 2. Keep Nationals in mind! See everybody tomorrow. -Kris - Wear wool socks, one pair of wool socks is warmer than two pairs of cottons socks.
- Wear a hat, but make sure it will not interfere with your play
- Wear multiple layers, you will be able to adjust your body temperature easier with multiple layers
- Make sure your layers do not have exposed metal, like a zipper
- You can wear mittens/gloves, but you still need to be able to catch at times
- If you walk outside and it feels cold, go back inside and get at least one more layer
- Bring water, the winter air is drier than the summer/fall air, you will get thirsty
- On very cold days, where the temperature has stayed below freezing, the ground may be frozen, consider running shoes instead of cleats
